A Bulletin Board on your website can be used by your members to discuss all manner of topics. If you have selected this feature in the website wizard process, the Bulletin Board will already be created and “good to go”. If you did not select this option, follow the below instructions to install this feature upon a page on your website. Click onto the website tab at the top of the main screen and select to add a new page under the home page. Call it Bulletin Board. Once the html editor has loaded click on the Edit Content and put a new line in at the top of the document. Then
click on the small green box icon in the editor.
Select bulletin board, but leave the parameters field blank and click on ok.
The green box will appear inside the editor. Click on update content and then on save page. Open up a new browser window and you will see there is a link to 'Create a new topic'. Click on it.
The next page will allow you to enter a topic name, your name, email address and whatever it is you want to say about the topic.
Please realise that if you can type anything in, then anyone visiting your site can also type anything in. You
will have to keep an eye on this, just to ensure that no-one leaves
anything that would not be appropriate, or of course, you could
combine the password protection feature (see fact sheet 21)
and the bulletin board. Then only people who are authorised
could post into it.
Having decided on a new topic, click on submit and you will be able to see what the bulletin board will look like.
Someone coming after you can either create another new topic or look at the topic you have created and add to it.
Deleting Posts as the AdministratorAs an administrator you may wish to delete posts or whole topics, especially if someone has put something offensive on the site. To delete items log into the Mysouthwest Administration console, go to advanced features and click on to Bulletin Board. The topics and posts will be visible. To delete them click on the delete link:
